Dans Nocturnes, on s’approche d’une ville plongée dans un état de veille, immobilisée dans l’entre-deux de l’agitation urbaine. À travers cette nouvelle série, Jürgen Nefzger propose un cheminement qui explore l’envers d’un espace du quotidien, dans l’incertitude et le plaisir de la découverte. De photographie en photographie, on suit une avancée solitaire qui, tout en partant des hauteurs des volcans pour se diriger vers le centre de la ville, se soucie moins de suivre un parcours que de se laisser envahir par une atmosphère nocturne. On s’enfonce progressivement dans Clermont-Ferrand, qui s’étend au creux de la chaîne des Puys, guettant les premières lueurs d’une aube qui ne poindra pas.

In Nocturnes, we near a city plunged into standby, immobilized between periods of urban bustle. With this new series, Jürgen Nefzger provides a journey that explores the hidden side of daily space in the uncertainty and the pleasure of discovery. From one photograph to the next, we follow a solitary path starting from the heights of the volcanoes to move into the city. Following a trail, however, is less important than letting oneself be invaded by a nocturnal atmosphere. We sink gradually into Clermont-Ferrard, which sprawls at the foot of the Puy chain of mountains, on the lookout for the first glow of dawn that will not break.
